“Newfoundland: Mind The Potholes” is a playful, exaggerated look at one newcomer's introduction to Newfoundland roads—and the discovery that sometimes the adventure begins before you ever reach your destination.

The song turns potholes into characters of their own: mysterious craters with postal codes, weather systems, mailboxes and possibly municipal status. Between dodging holes, protecting the coffee cup, wondering whether the tires are still attached and discovering a beautiful new speed bump beside an enormous pothole, the lyrics use humour to ask one recurring question: How is there always asphalt for another speed bump, but apparently never enough for the potholes?

Much of the comedy comes from treating ordinary road damage as something completely absurd. Potholes reproduce at night, hold secret meetings and plot their next appearance.
